Today we would continue the teaching of 5 life’s purposes from God so that we could walk in God’s purpose that would bring great grace to our life. - Our true life’s purpose is from God.
- We were not born in this world for our purpose.
- God is the one who has the purpose of our births in this world
- Thus our true life’s purpose is from God.
- If we could understand and walk in our purpose from God, we would experience great grace that God has provided for us.
- The five God’s purposes in our life.
- TO PLEASE GOD.
- By worshipping
- The first thing that pleases God’s heart is to worship God.
- Exodus 3:18 The elders of Israel will listen to you. Then you and the elders are to go to the king of Egypt and say to him. ‘The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. Let us take a three day journey into he desert to offer sacrifices to the Lord our God.
- So be it with our life, the first thing that pleases God is to worship Him, and not to worship others.
- So let us be the worshipper of God so that we would please Him according to His purpose of creating us – human.
- TO BE THE FAMILY OF GOD.
- By unionship.
- Means that, we need to be one with God and His people because we are the family of God.
- That is, to join with one of the local church, because the local church is the family of God (Ephesians 2:19)
- So that our spirit could grow well in the Lord.
- TO BE LIKE CHRIST.
- Romans 8:29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.
- By being disciple of. (Matthew 28:19-20)
- Students in Hebrews is called “LIMMUD”. It means:
- Being taught and learn with discipline.
- If we do not learn with discipline we would be fool men.
- Being trained and train with discipline.
- Knowledge must be followed with discipline training, if not the knowledge would be useless.
- Be shaped and shape the character mentality of discipline.
- Mentality and character is the foundation of knowledge and skills.
- This is how Jesus makes disciples, transforming ordinary people to be extra ordinary people.
- Acts 4:13 When they say the courage of Peter and John and realised that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.
- If we want to do LIMMUD seriously, we would be transformed from ordinary to extra ordinary people.
- SERVING GOD.
- By using talents / grace that God has given to complete the body of Christ / church of God.
- The church of God is called the body of Christ, and each of us is the member of the body.
- 1 Corinthians 12:27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.
- Each of us is given different talents to suit each of our ministries (Rome 12:4-8)
- Examples of other talents / grace: prayer, praise and worship, music, teaching, media, computer, wealth, position, strength in facing suffering, etc.
- If we use the talents / grace that God has given to equip the church of God, then the church of God would become a church of God that is very strong and has a great impact to this world.
- Example: limbs that are paralysed and strong body.
- Do not make the body of Christ powerless because we become a disfunctional member.
- SAVING SOULS.
- Luke 19:10 For the son of man came to seek and to save what was lost.
- By preaching the good news.
- Mark 16:15-16 He said to the, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes is baptised will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
- Thus everything we do in our life must have the purpose of preaching the the good news to save souls.
- If our church is doing something, it must have the purpose of saving soul.
- The building, radio, tv, school, events, social, etc.
- If we want to be / to do something, it needs to have the purpose of saving soul
- Example:
- Wanting to be a doctor so that through its knowldge and its proffesion could save many souls.
- Wanting to be an excellent presenter so that could save souls through the media
- Wanting to be a successful entrepreneur so that with its position and wealth could be used to save many souls, etc.
- In everywhere, we need the children of God who wants to be used by Him so that many people would be saved and life in God’s grace.
- Remember, anything we do for God is storing our treasure in heaven.
- The movement of saving soul through the Sunday service and cellgroup.
We need to seriously make the purpose of God to be our life’s purpose, so that the holy plan of the Lord would become real into our ilfe. |

Bible reading: Exodus 2:1-10 We will learn again from the life of Moses with the theme : The Right Purpose of Life” - We have to understand the purpose for us to be born into this world.
- We ourselves don’t understand what is the purpose for us to be born into this world.
- Moses himself did not know why he was born.
- There are 4 kinds of response people have about why they are born into the world.
- We don’t know but we realize surely there is a purpose for us to be born into this world.
- We don’t understand and don’t care to know.
- There is no purpose why they are born into this world.
- We understand there is the purpose of GOD why we are born into this world.
- Our birth into this world is not our own purpose.
- No one ever plans about his own birth into this world.
- Even our parents sometimes they do not want our birth in the beginning
- GOD is the one who has the purpose for us to be born into this world.
- Because GOD is the one who created us Col 1:16 - 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
- All that is created must have a purpose, for example : Moses.
- He was born into a couple of Levites.
- His mother was moved to float him on the Nile River.
- The daughter of the Pharaoh was by the Nile River and she was moved to take Moses as her adopted son.
- He received leadership education in the kingdom of Egypt.
- His mentality and character were shaped during his time in the dessert.
- He was sent by the LORD to lead the people of GOD our of the slavery in Egypt.
- Through the Bible we understand the purpose for us to be born into this world.
- The Bible is the manual book from the Lord, our creator, for our life.
- (Psalm 139:14-16).
- The benefit if we understand and believe our life purpose for us to be born into this world:
- To realize our life is so meaningful.
- To strengthen us when we are faced with challenges
- To have the correct steps.
- To achieve the purpose GOD wants.
- What is the purpose of GOD in our life?
- To please GOD’s heart.
- Worship is something that very please GOD’s heart.
- GOD wanted HIS people to be out of the slavery to worship GOD (Exodus 3:18).
- To worship has 2 meanings::
- First, to worship in prayer and worship songs
- Secondly, to offer our time, energy, intelligence, wealth, decisions, desires, our future to the LORD
- Example: Lucifer was given the task to lead the worship to the LORD but he did not want to offer his worship to the LORD but for himself, so the LORD did not want to use Lucipher to lead the worship in heaven
- This is one of the reasons why GOD created us human to replace Lucipher to offer worship that pleases GOD’s heart.
- 5 things of worship that pleases the LORD’s heart.
- To love the LORD ( Matthew 22:37, Hosea 6:6).
- To believe the LORD (Hebrew 11:6).
- To obey the LORD.
- To praise and to give thanks to the LORD always in prayer, worship and life.
- To use all of our talents for the LORD.
- To be in fellowship with LORD and HIS church.
- Fellowship with the LORD.
- GOD gave us the power to be the children of GOD ( John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.
- We were called by GOD to be HIS children and we called GOD as our Father.
- We are called as the Family of GOD.
- The fellowship with the body of Christ.
- GOD also calls us to be in fellowship with other believers to be the family of GOD that is the church of GOD (Ephesians 2: 19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;.
- We need to join with one of the local church for our spiritual growth.
- Steps to join a local church well.
- To attend a service in the church in a routine basis.
- To give ourselves to be baptized.
- To be a member of a local church.
- To come to cell meetings on a routine basis.
- Holy Communion reminds us about the fellowship with Christ and the body of Christ (1 Cor 10:16 -The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
Let’s have the right purpose of life so we will reach the glorious plan of GOD in our life |

Moses’ Staff became a God’s Staff |

Bible Reading: Exodus 4: 1- 5 Today we would learn once again from the life of Moses, with a title of: Moses’ staff became a God’s Staff. With a purpose of capably using everything that God had entrusted us with His purpose, so that we would experience God’s holy plan in our life. - What did Moses’ staff describe?
- That moment, God was asking Moses what was in Moses hand (verse 2)
- God was asking Moses what was in Moses hand not because God did not knew what was in it, but God asked him so that Moses realised what was the thing in his hand.
- And so be it, when God is asking something to us, not because God does not know the answer, but God wants us to realise about our circumstances.
- Example: God asked Adam where Adam was.
- The Moses’ staff described 3 things:
- Describing his status (who he is)
- Describing his income (what he possesses)
- As his income came from his job of herding sheep.
- Describing his influence (what he does)
- The Moses’ staff was used to bring his sheep to the field, to the stall, or to anywhere.
- Thus Moses’ staff described: 1) who Moses was; 2) What he owned; 3) What he did.
- If the staff was held, it would became just a stick, but it was let go, it would be alive and powerful. (verse 3-4).
- Everything that is taught by God and told in the bible have a purpose to teach us something.
- Means that everything we have, if we hold on them tightly only for ourselves, they would be useless.
- But if we dare to let go of them to be used by God, they would become alive and full of power.
- Since Moses used his staff to do God’s work, his staff was never again called as Moses’ staff, but it was then called “God’s staff” (Exodus 4:20 and Exodus 17:9).
- The very simple wooden stick could become a tool that could do extra ordinary things.
- The Nile river became blood (Exodus 7:20)
- To split the Red Sea into two (Exodus 14:16-22)
- To bring water our from rocks (Number 20:11)
- When the wooden stick was lifted up in prayer, the people of God won the battle.
- So be it with everything that God had entrusted to us, if we use them for God, they they would be called God’s own.
- If they are God’s own, they would be equipped with power and miracle.
- Example: this family belongs to God, our work and our business belong to God, our ministry also belongs to God, etc.
- Determining the eternal life.
- Even after Moses died, he was still used by God (Luke 9:28-31).
- As Moses used his whole life for God, then after his death, Moses was still used by God in God’s glory.
- We have 2 lifes.
- A life in the world, a life in eternity (the hell or the heaven)
- Because we were created according to the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:26).
- God is eternal, thus we are also created to be an eternal creature.
- Because God wants us to live with God forever.
- The life in this world is very brief.
- To live 30-50-70-100 year is very brief, yet if it is compared with eternal life.
- James 4:14
- Eventhough it is very brief, but what we do in this world determine our life in eternity.
- What we have striven in this world, when we pass away, they will dissappear too, but what we have done for the kingdom of God and others would be stored in heaven.
- That is why Lord Jesus always said “ store your treasure in heaven, and not in the world (Matthew 6:19-21).
- How can we store our treasure in heaven?
- Everything we do for the kingdom of God would be stored in heaven.
- Everything we do for our life in the world would be stored in the world.
- Example: everything we do that is for God’s work, every help we gave to others who are in needs enable them to receive the love of God, etc.
- The great mistake of human being who live in this era is that they only struggle to provide the world necessities that is brief or temporary, but do not struggle to provide the necessities for the eternal life.
- Example: If on 1st January 2010, the sole currency of the world is the RMB, what would we do? We would surely trade all of our money with RMB.
- One day God would eventually ask us.
- Everything that God entrusted to us, we would be asked for our liabilities of them.
- Example: The servant who was entrusted with 5-2-1 talents, was asked about the talents who had been entrusted to him.
- There are two things that God would ask us when we face Jesus one day:
- What did you to to my Son, Jesus Christ?
- Di you open up ur heart to Him?
- Did you make Him the Lord and King in your life?
- What had you done with everything I had entrusted you with?
- Salvation, health, intelligence, wealth, status, chances that I have entrusted to you?
- Think about it: what have you done with everything you have that God had entrusted you with?
- God does not give what we have received only for ourselvses.
- We are blessed to be a blessing to the kingdom of God and others.
- So God wants everything that God had entrusted upon our hands, can be used for the kingdom of God and others (Matthew 22:37-40)
Use whatever things that God had entrusted us for the kingdom of God, so that the power, miracle and God’s extra ordinary grace would come to us. |

Thursday, 01 October 2009 |
Bible Reading: Numbers 20:2-13 Being big hearted is pivotal in our life’s journey. Thus today we would learn the words of God with a title of: “Big hearted in life’s journey” so that we could be big hearted and experience the good things in life. - The meaning of big hearted.
- Being big hearted does not mean to be ignorant of bad conditions. Example:
- Ignoring a child who does not want to study.
- Ignoring a cell group who does not advance.
- Being big hearted means of having a big heart/ having a wide point of view for the sake of bringing goodness like what Jesus had done (Luke 23:34).
- Benefits of being big hearted.
- Harmony and unity.
- Being big hearted would extinguish problems; being narrow hearted would enlarge problems.
- Being not big hearted made Isralites always in quarrels in their journey (verse 2-3).
- Being not big hearted makes us unable to accept the current circumstances but blame other people.
- In ministries, eventhough everything is for God, but if people are not big hearted, there will always be conflicts.
- Being big hearted would make us live in harmony and unity.
- Happy
- If we have a narrow heart, we would easily be offended and hurt so that we could not receive happiness in life.
- Example: The Israelites could not enjoy happiness eventhough they were on spiritual journey that was full of God’s grace.
- But if we have a big hearted, we would not be easily offended / hurt so that we could always give thanks and be cheerful in the Lord.
- Example: a heart that is as wide as the football field with a heart that is as wide as a narrow room.
- Keep walking in the truth.
- If we are not being big hearted towards other people who committed mistake / sin, then we could be encouraged to sin too.
- Example: He and Aaron gathered the assembly together in front of the rock and Moses said to them, “Listen you rebels, must we bring you water out of this rock?” Then Moses raised his arm and struck the rock twice with his staff. Water gushed out, and the community and their livestock drank. (verse 10 – 11)
- If we keep our heart big hearted, then eventhough other people commit sin, we would not be hooked to sin too.
- Receiving what God had promised.
- If we are not big hearted, we would do many mistakes so that we could not receive what God had promised us.
- Example: Moses (verse 12).
- If we are big hearted, we would keep on walking in the truth and eventually we would receive what God had promised us.
- Could be used by God to be blessings.
- If we are not being big hearted, we would revenge people who had done bad things to us so that we could not be used by God to be His tool to save the sinners.
- If we are bing big hearted, we can forgive people who had offended us so that we could be used by God to be His light, salt and blessing to others.
- Example: Joseph, Paul (1 Corinthians 4:12-13).
- Doing the right thing.
- If we are not being big hearted, we could not unite, we would always be grumpy and do many mistakes, thus could not used by God to be a blessing, thus we would not be able to do great things in God.
- On the contrary, if we have a big heart, we could unite with others, give thanks and be cheerful in doing tasks, and keep walking in the truth. We could also be a blessing, thus we can be used by God to do great things...
- How can we be big hearted.
- Realizing that life and problems always go together.
- Realising that each of us is different.
- God created each of us different with a purpose of completing each other. If we do not realise it, we would often be sullen and emotional so that we could not be big hearted.
- But if we realise that each of us created differently, we could easily be big hearted.
- In the family, at school, at workplace, in the ministry, at church, etc.
- That is why God appoints leader to take decicions.
- Realising that nobody’s perfect but God.
- The Israelites were not perfect, Moses was not perferct, each of us is not perfect. If we realise it, it will be easy for us to be big hearted towards others.
- Having faith in God.
- If we do not have faith towards God, we would be in fear and depressed in overcoming problems, eventually we would hardly be big hearted.
- But if we believe in God, we could easily be big hearted.
- Realising that if we overcome the problem wisely, it would bring goodness.
- When we learn about limmud, if we do not realise that it will bring goodness then we could not be big hearted.
- But if we realise that limmud would bring success in our life, then we could be easily big hearted.
Let us learn to be big hearted so that we could have a life full of grace. |

Study from The Journey of GBI Keluarga Allah |
|
|

Sunday, 27 September 2009 |
We will study from the 20 years GOD has built and guide the journey of our church. - BEING CHOSEN.
- Our church is chosen by the LORD to be pioneer to do a very great things.
- There are people who are chosen by the LORD to do great things because their lives are pleasing in the LORD’s heart.
- Noah, lived blameless and walked with GOD.
- Abraham, his faith in the LORD.
- Moses who was very gentle hearted.
- David , a heart that loves the LORD.
- Joseph Mary, a couple with a sincere heart.
- So, for us to be chosen by the LORD, we must have a life that is pleasing to GOD ‘s heart.
- TO TAKE THE STEP.
- Our church is taught by the LORD to learn to take a step just as an eaglet being taught to fly by its mother.
- In the premiere service, the Word of GOD given was taken from Deuteronomy 32:11-12.
- And that time we sang “ The Lord is my Strength”
- Let’s not live a life that is monotonous, but we need to move forward.
- Elisha , when he was called by the Lord, to serve.
- Noah took the step to build the ark.
- Abraham took the step to leave his country.
- Joseph, took the step to take Mary as his wife.
- Even when we have been chosen by the LORD to do great things, we still have to be brave /bold to taje the step to do according to the guidance of the LORD.
- Because our senior pastor and the servants of GOD supporting him, were courageous to take the step, then GOD can use our church to do great things..
- The same applies to each one of us, we have to be courageous to take the step to do the guidance of GOD.
- TO TRUST.
- When the LORD commanded us to buy the cinema building to be used as a church building, the Lord gave the rhema through Romans 4:17.
- That time we did not have the money to buy the cinema building STAR.
- So, it was with much tears that we sang the song “ Yes LORD I Believe”
- After we dare to take the step with faith, the LORD used our senior pastor’s wife, all the congregation and the bank to provide for the funds needed.
- Even when we have already received a promise/ rhema but if we do not have faith then we will not make a move, or even when we take the step we will stop half way.
- Abraham stepped with faith to the place determined by the LORD for him (Hebrew 11:8).
- Peter had to take the step with faith to walk on water/ storm.
- Lot’s wife turned around and became the salt pillar.
- We must have a firm faith in doing the Word of GOD so we will not be doubtful.
- TO STRETCH OUT.
- For us to reach the vision of 20.000 souls saved, then the LORD commanded us to build bigger church building
- The Lord confirmed this with the prophesy given by several servants of GOD.
- The Lord also gave his WORD in Isaiah 54:2 - 54:2 Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes!
- The Lord also strengthened us with the 4 lots of land in the church area that were offered to our church for sale.
- So in order for us to receive greater things, we must also do greater things..
- We must stretch out our heart to be broader
- Our faith to be greater
- A larger place
- To sow more
- To work more
- To learn more
- 2 Cor 9:6 -9:6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
- FERVENT SPIRIT
- One of the theme that was hung on our church for 10 years is LET your spirit fervent..
- Romans 12:11 ---12:11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
- We also often sang the song Let your spirit be fervent
- A fervent spirit is very important for each one of us
- Having a fervent spirit will make us to receive wisdom, power and the grace of GOD to flow in our life…
- When our spirit is down, then all the potentials in us will be gone, however if our spirit is fervent in the LORD , then we will be a very potential
- VISION.
- We must keep on moving from a vision to a greater vision.
- Proverb 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. Amsal 29:18 Bila tidak ada wahyu, menjadi liarlah rakyat. Berbahagialah orang yang berpegang pada hukum.
- Proverbs 29:18 Where [there is] no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy [is] he. (AV)
- The Lord gives the vision to our church
- 1.000—5.000—10.000—20.000—1 million souls to be saved.
- Steps to reach the vision of 1 m souls saved
- More than one thousand cell groups everywhere to be a net.
- Every department saves souls according to it’s part.
- Satellite
- School, Christian School, Theological School.
- Internet : those who use our church website 653826 people till yesterday.
- Radio : the listeners of El Shadday FM is 1,2 million people
- TV : according to survey those who watch the tv is 23 million people
- etc.
- We need to establish the vision the LORD has given us more seriously.
Let’s do these 6 things above so we can experience the great things in the LORD. |
